Hey everyone. I found you all when this forum was mentioned at cleanmpg.com forums. Looking forward to learning from all of you! I've had my HCH II since July and it's at 8k miles, roughly. I'm getting about 60mpg tanks. I'm planning to start a tank log, too.

You all may want to check out cleanmpg.com and look at the Hypermiling threads. There are many many others out there that make my mpg look lame with the HCHII!

 

No need to be humble Melissa! 60 mpg puts you pretty high up on the 'ladder' even on cleanmpg. Especially good for just starting out with the car. I am very happy now to get a 60mpg tank in the peak of the summer. Can't wait til winter comes back

Seriously - ski season is going to be fantastic!

 

The only way I can get 60 MPG is to get the vehicle warmed up, rolling down the freeway with the AC off and reset the trip meter. Then with some carefull freeway driving and maybe a bit of semi-truck drafting I can get the gauge over 60 MPG. It was a hot sweaty miserable 50 mile ride but one that I took great satisfaction in.
