Smile 99 NHW10 Original Prius secondhand

I am an Irishman in Japan, almost 18 years.
There is also a Prius mileage database in Japanese but they lump all the models together so it was difficult to find information for the NHW10.
As a secondhand car it was a good bargain but unlike later models, there is no record for the mileage over car life.

For October there was no need to use A/C. Also I avoid heater except when ICE is running. I dont expect to get this mileage for winter or summer. I dont expect to see this for the the whole year.

My commute route, is a back mountain road, with almost no traffic lights for 35miles. There is long climb 10m but on the long descent, I can usually keep it in EV mode for nearly 1 hour. Roads are very low speed, 25-40mph speed limits.

Japanese regular gasoline does not contain any ethanol(as yet), so this may also show higher mpg compared to US.

It is long slow commute but it is cheaper than toll road expressway which would cost about 15 dollars per day.

The information in this hybrid database was very useful in deciding to buy this car. I am grateful to you for sharing your mpg.

Keep on posting
Thanks
Andrew

I was aware of it but did not join yet.
I also had seen your homepage before.
Do you know if anyone is doing PHEV conversions in Japan?

Hi Andy,

AFAIK, there is no one trying to do the PHEV conversion in Japan.
