A Provo company tested its electric snowmobile for the first time today. They believe the silent-running sled could quiet the contentious debate over banning snowmobiles in Yellowstone National Park.

Environmentalists argue snowmobiles are loud and dirty and don't belong in the wilderness. But what if the sleds were silent, clean, affordable and powerful? Snowmobilers might buy them and environmentalists might tolerate them.
