Graphyte concept points to next generation hybrid strategy
Headlining GM's roll-out of hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles was a new concept, the GMC Graphyte.
"We are launching 12 different hybrid models aimed at high volume segments," said Tom Stephens, group vice president for GM poweretrain
The mid-size Graphyte concept uses a new two-mode full hybrid powertrain designed that GM is developing in concert with DaimlerChrysler AG. Combined with a Vortec 5.3 liter V8 with displacement on demand technology, the Graphyte promises strong performance in all conditions, said Stephens.
