Default Ford teaches hybrid buyers how to drive

Last weekend, Ford engineers spent two days teaching 300 well-educated, well-connected technology lovers everything they can do to maximize the mileage on their gas-electric hybrid versions of the Escape SUV.
"It's important because we want to make sure people know how to drive the cars to increase their fuel economy," says Mary Ann Wright, director of hybrid technologies. "And it's important for my group, too, because they really feel like rock stars."

Their 'hybrid patrol' will be in Mariners, driving w/ local police. They will give 'tickets' to people they see driving well ($25 BP gas cards). Keep your eye out!

I like that they will be training the police and are stressing that the techniques work in all vehicles, esp. since police cruisers certainly need to have the power available, and are driven 24 hours a day! The top fuel-saver in each police dept. gets a Mariner!!!!!
