So I met with the local Honda electronics guru...he started looking at the owner's manual and asked me to reset my iPod. Obviously this didn't work. It feels to me like something hasn't been connected. Supposedly there is another expert that will call me tomorrow...I appreciate all of the feedback. Sounds like this should work if they used the correct components

Update: finally talked to someone at Honda who knew what they were talking about. Turns out they didn't install the Y-harness. When that went it, the AUX input reappeared! Thanks to all for your feedback.

I have a 2010 Insight EX with standard radio. Just installed the XM kit this weekend. Before installation, I asked the dealer if I would need the y-harness to for installation (as I do not have NAV). He told me to simply install the XM radio 12-pin connector in place of the factory 12-pin. WRONG. The radio works fine, but the i-pod circuit does not work. Now have to pull the radio and install the y-harness to get my I-pod feature back. Whether you have nav or not, buy the y-harness.

Installation was not for the faint of heart, but all went well. Pointers for DIY's...

1. Buy the y-harness
2. Back bracket of the XM tuner attaches to the blower mounting bolt on the firewall (not as depicted in the instructions I had).
3. Passenger a-pillar molding does not "tap out" with a rubber mallet; must first unlock the (2) plastic retainers and then push the molding toward the front windshield to lift it out.
4. Use a small hand mirror to locate the radio retaining bolt. Remove with a driver.
5. Remove the plastic molding below your radio by pushing up and pulling out simultaneously. Yes, it does snap out, but it is not easy.
