It has come time for me to get new tires for my 03 Honda Insight. Well first thing i find out is that my tire size that is currently on the car is 165/65/14. Second thing i find is that no one has any . But a few places can get them, while I was at Big-O-Tires, they recommended that every hybrid they had seen used 175/65/14 instead as they were slightlywider and had better load bearing. But when looking up the car in thier database it stated that honda did not recommend changing tire sizes.

Whats the opinion here? Should i go with the 165's or the 175's, they are both the same price so that didnt make much of a difference and apparently bridgestone is the only manufacturer.

Most people who switch to a wider tire take a 5mpg or so hit but say the ride is nicer. Have fun, RIck

It seems you are limited to Brigestones in term of replacement...

You could also go for wider (175) and counter balance the mileage hit with higher sidewall (175/65 or 175/70).
