Tires for 2002 Honda Insight

Re: Tires for 2002 Honda Insight
The car does have a lot of road noise, for many reasons including the tires. Also, a minimum of sound dampening material was used, to save weight. Also, the thin Al body does transmit noise and vibration into the cabin very well.
What tire pressure do you run? You can drop yours as low as the value recommend on the placard in the door jamb.
You should be aware that changing to any tire other than the RE92 will raise rolling resistance and the FE impact is large enough to notice.
I find there are competently engineered tires available from all the major manufacturers. You might check out reviews at the Tire Rack dot com if you want to find a quiet tire.
Tires wider than 165mm will fit, but they'll reduce your hydroplaning resistance and grip on snow. Good luck!
