"That has many motorists thinking seriously about fuel economy."

Maybe this reporter should seriously think about the name of the car he's writing about.

Umm..not much substance to that article. There are plenty of people on these forums that could have written a much more coherent article.

I resurrected this one because the gas prices sound like the old times, but was only two years ago. It is amazing how fast it ($) rises.

Gas prices climbed another two and a half cents to a new record over the past two weeks, according to a national survey.

The nationwide average, based on 8,000 stations around the country, is now at $1.82 for all grades. That's up almost 32 cents since late December.

That has many motorists thinking seriously about fuel economy.
I miss paying under $2/gal ... and remember when it passed the $1 mark ... when scrounging for change as a teenager could actually get you around for a night out (many times I would get pennies I saved up or have a few quarters and put some gas in the van so it wasn't completely empty when my parents would get in it in the morning). The crazy part is that I am paying nearly the same amount per mile driving a Hybrid ... If I only had one back then ...

I miss paying under 35 cents/gal. And the joy when you found a couple of gas stations engaged in a gas price war. I remember a few times paying only 19 cents/gal. I could have cared less that my GTO got only 10 mpg! Of course then came the oil embargo and gas jumped to 50 cents/gal or more. That's when I bought my first Honda Civic.
