livvie, thanks for the report on the Blizzaks -- I'll be getting a set this fall (swear by them on everything else I drive) but was definitely wondering what the mileage hit was for the higher rolling resistance. Good to know it's not significant.

i think the reason is that the blizzaks are fairly light. the only penalty that we have seen for milage has been the winter blends of gas and the temperature.

we have driven our hch in the late spring with regular blends and with high temperatures and we could easily match mpg as found with our summer set of tires.

ps. i bought a set of civic HX rims. I'm sure that helped. I think those rims are lighter than OEM hybrid rims as well.
