molex,

Again, RTFP. Since you're the second person to say the same thing, I assume I wasn't clear enough, although I made a point to saying that the AUTOMATIC unlocking only opens the driver's door, and I figured that was enough to distinguish it from the REMOTE door unlock, but I guess not. I changed the original post to reflect this, since it seems like everyone will tell me the same thing and think I'm an idiot for not pressing the REMOTE twice....In any case, I'm very well aware of hitting the remote twice to unlock all doors, I'm talking about when you put the car in park and they unlock automatically or when you turn off the ignition and they unlock automatically....You nor the passenger should have to press the unlock button to open ONLY his door, its absurd....

Yes, I hate this with a passion too. There has to be someting that can be done to get all the doors to unlock when you put it into park. If you guys call honda or here from someone else how to fix it post it...

i doubt honda would allow this strictly from a liability standpoint. honda would not want to be exposed to potential lawsuits resulting from theft and/or personal injury related to an intruder entering the car from a rear door. by simply enabling the capability, they would become exposed. i'm certain their attorneys strongly recommended against this.

keep in mind that we live in an age of no personal responsiblity. where a person can sue and win a case involving macdonalds not printing "hot" warning labels on their hot beverages.

not needed... you could either find the single unlock button in the middle of the console and the doors all unlock... or you can reach for the door handle as everybody does and just pull twice. it becomes second nature.

I concur. My wife and lunch buddy sure wish there was an auto-unlock option for the passenger door. Given how much thought Honda placed into this vehicle, this seems like a gross oversight.

Here in the heart o' the midwest we don't lock our doors. If we did, we'd have ta go git the other set-o-keys cause ther'd be one set lock'd inside....

Bummer, that's one of my favorite features on my 97 Civic HX. When I hop in the car and turn the key to the on position, it locks both doors (the HX is a 2-door). When I turn the ignition off, it unlocks both doors. Granted, that's thanks to the cheap dealer-installed keyless entry system, but you'd think that a factory option on a $22,000 car would be as good as the $30 keyless entry system on my 9-year old $13,700 car.

Default Still confused...

I guess I'm dense, I still don't understand what the problem is?

When my wife and I drove around the other day, we got in and out of the car as normal. When getting into the car I pressed the unlock on the fob twice and we got in. Started up, drove off. When we got where we were going, I parked and turned the car off and we both got out. She never mentioned being locked in, or having to unlock the door to get out or anything like that. She just opened the door and got out?

I'm not trying to be a smart *** here, I just honestly don't understand what the issue is?
