Hello folks, first post from me here. I purchased a grid charger for my 2007 Civic after having some all to common IMA issues. I've done many hours of research so I am pretty certain of my plans moving forward, however...
I pulled the battery out of my car and it looks nothing like that of a 2007 Civic. I mainly need to see where I will be attaching the positive and negative leads to this type of battery if it becomes familiar to anyone here.
I have attached some photos. Grid charge kit is for 06-08 civic and comes with photos. Photo of side of battery is different.
Any help would be VERY greatly appreciated.
Update: newer info. I was able to remove the junction box. I may have to attach grid positive and negative cables under here but I'm just not familiar with these well enough to decide where to attach them. I have added more pictures with the junction box off.
I am starting to wonder if perhaps this is a 09+ battery.
Correct, 2009+. Sorry I missed this. Note that the 2009+ battery has the distinction of being the only hybrid battery worse than the 2006-2008. They had a failure rate of 30% in 3-4 years. 06-08 was about 16% in 5-7 years. Keep your expectations low.
Yeah I heard the 09+ are worse batteries, unfortunately. I am on my second charge cycle now, hopefully I can get some usable life out of this car. I bought it for my mom for mother's day (was cheap) and hope to make it fairly reliable for her.
