Default Starter Clutch

This has probably been covered many times before, but I can't find it. I am rebuilding the CVT on my 2008 Civic hybrid. I have it mostly apart, but CANNOT get the start clutch off. I have take off all the pins and washers holding it on. I have a puller secured to the parking brake. When I tighten it down, it will get super tight, then just spin as I turn the wrench. What am I doing wrong?

Nope. It hasn't. Few are foolhardy enough to travel the path you have chosen.

Do you have the Honda service manual?

Lol well that makes me feel better. Seems like there are lots of threads for the gen 1 Insight CVT rebuilds, which are pretty similar.

I have the service manual, but I haven't found CVT disassembly. I've been using the Chilton manual, and I've followed the instructions, but... Now I am here.

Disassembly instructions begin on 14-227.

Thanks so much! I have the service manual on my computer at home. I will look at that tonight to see if there was a step I missed or something.
Have you pulled a start clutch before? Seems pretty straight forward, but... Does the transmission have to be in a certain gear? Is there something else I have to disable besides those 3 locking mechanisms on top?

I'm dumbfounded.

I am not among the few.

There are several steps described prior to starter clutch removal, and the puller groove is deeply recessed beyond what your tool may allow.

You're not making me feel better about my choices. LOL

I must find the few.

So I guess I have the factory workshop manual instead of the service manual. 12,000 pages and no disassembly procedure...

Was it just the application of additional anger?

I emailed you through the site concerning manuals.
