If you change to larger diameter rims, you them must have low profile tires put on if youplan to keep the same outside diameter which you should! This means less rubber on the sidewall heights. I doubt this will help anything but possibly the looks depending on what rim you get. If I were bothered than much, I would check on the quietness of another brand of the same size as on the current rim. Only problem, you got to buy 'em to try 'em!

 

I'll definitely keep the same diameter - I'm sure the car and transmission are calibrated to a particular wheel diameter. Not going to mess with that. The 10 lb wheels were interesting - good looking too. However if the current ones are that much, there isn't much incentive.
