So, all you people who have got it, was your car purchased new in one of the clean states? (In which case you have an AT-PZEV)

Or have we determined that it applies to all states?

Also, is this global, for EVERY HCH?

Mine is a 2003 ULEV bought new in IL. so I think it applies to all of them.

Cool Re: Recall 2003-05 HCH

Got mine in the mail Saturday. Still, it is funny to tell someone your car was recalled because of a software update. By the way, I bought mine new in 2005.

Possibly more than a software update. If the diagnosis meets certain conditions, they will have to replace the catalytic converter. A code has to be set for them to do this.

Hi DT,

Is this something the dealer made clear? I was wondering about this issue, since my HCH (2003, SULEV), has over 30,000 miles on it. The recall notice states that there's a possibility of damage to the catalytic converter. Has anyone heard of cases where the converter has actually had to be replaced?

I received my notice Saturday, and mine's in the shop today.

I got the notice with a 2005 ULEV CVT Civic Hybrid, purchased new in Maryland just a few weeks ago.

Does anyone here have a sense of how urgent this is? If Civic Hybrids have been driving around with this bug for 2+ years without an obvious problem, I'm inclined to wait until my first scheduled service...

Mine's going in at 10am today. Fortunately, it's not a big deal for me, since I live about six minutes from a Honda dealership, and they'll give me a ride to work. By my reckoning, there's no time like the present... it'll be one less thing to plan for in the future.

I saw the info described on the dealer computer. I did not read it in detail as was in hurry. I think if a code was set, you would have a light on dash, but not positive about this!
