Default News from 5000 miles

Whoa huge jump today in MPG. I don't know what happened, but for some reason after I filled my tank and reset the trip meter I have notice huge gains in fuel efficiency. I've never seen my HCH2 at 51 mpg after 175 miles on the tank. I'm going to try my best to squeeze out over 600 miles on this tank. Will post results next week.

Interesting. Mine's at close to 5800 miles and I didn't notice any difference.

I have seen my "average" as high as 65 mpg, and as low 38 mpg...but by the time I fill the tank 440+ miles later, I end up with an average around 48 mpg. A lot depends on how you are driving at time of the high (or low) readings. Its good "average" information...but I woundn't get all excited if its too high or low.

I got a nice jump in FE today. It had nothing to do with the engine breaking in though. It was 45F outside and it's a lot easier to warm up the car starting at 40F than 20F

I knew it! 53.3 mpg. I finally made it past 500 miles before the fuel light came on. I finally understand my car -- woo hoo!!

I'm telling you. This car is getting over 50 mpg and I'm not even having to work that hard for it. Something happened at 5000 miles.
I love this car.
