Negative Camber Problem; What You Need To Do To Get The Upper Control Arms Replaced
Took the print out of the TSB to the Honda Dealer today. They knew all about it, where processing the work for a car at the time I pulled up, and said " When do you want to bring the car in." Scheduled for this Thursday morning with a free loaner.
Assuming everything goes well, John Eagle Honda in Houston would be added to the good dealer list.

After a short disscussion with Honda Australia I have to book my car into a service centre for an Alignment check, they claim the recall is not relevant in Australia. and that they will check the vehicle for out of specifications etc, this is done externally by tyre retailers, i am awaiting a call from them to make sure that i will not be paying for this to be done.
Honda they would evaluate whether it was due to damage etc or out of spec and would take it form there. Ill keep you informed

My situation was a little different....
Had the thumping tires last fall (at ~18kmi), found bad shoulder wear when tires rotated/spin balanced (at Sams club). Still had thumping in front and ordered new tires through Sams. Had Honda do the alignment in December and most cambers out of spec. THEN saw the TSB on this site - thanks!
A month ago, local dealer (will give name depending on service) did not recognize the TSB, but would ask local factory rep. Yesterday, the sales manager called me for my birthday, which was nice...... Today, I cornered the service manager who stated they would honor the TSB for me but I would have to work with Honda Customer Service (Torrence CA) to get any refund on the tires or alignment. Called them and got a case number andpromise of Regional rep to get with me by Thursday.
Will update this post with any good or bad news.
By the way - am I due for CVT fluid change at ~25k?

3/20 update
reguional manager left me phone message yesterday to discuss my claim (within 2 bus days). Asked me to call him as he had questions. Called him 3 times today - vmail. I guess he was off watching B Ball tourney....
Thanks

Attention San Diego HCH owners experiencing this problem with their rear tires
+1 for Carlsbad Hoehn.....
-1 for Poway Honda......
Poway Honda tried to give me the run around and did not want to investigate further on the issue especially when I told them the TSB # and symptoms. They insisted on replacing the tires first and get an alignment done before coming in to check to see if it is indeed the control arms causing the problem. On the other hand, Carlsbad dealer (Hoehn) was well aware of the problem and did not have to put me through the run-around and already scheduled an appointment with them. They also even reminded me that I was under some Honda Care agreement whereas I'd have to pay a 100$ deductible which includes a car rental while the car is being serviced since I had exceeded my warranty mileage by 1200 miles.
Anyhow, lesson learned here. Do your research first and choose $tealer wisely. This forum is awesome! This thread gets 5 stars!!

Only a few Honda Dealers will do anything for the tires. They are supposed to contact Tire Rack for you and get a pro-ration per the Tire Warranty offered by the specific tire company, either Bridgestone or Dunlap.
The key issue here is that it is all written out in the TSB. They are supposed to help owners solve the problem.
I guess we have come to expect more from the machine than the people.
Please add any good Dealers to the list. It is still an open market.

So far, add Woodland Hills Keyes (CA) to the bad dealer list...
Car has 29000 miles, and the noise from the back was driving me crazy for the last... I'd say almost a year by now. On the last oil change they rotated and equilibrated the tires, telling me that the tires would have to be replaced at some point soon that the noise was due to tire cupping...
Later on I found about the bulletin.
I had my wife take the car there last week with the service bulleting. We listed the things to be done (service bulletin, driver door seal replacement, fix to the window off track problem on same door and the arm rest covering is coming out on the back) They gave her an appointment for today and that they needed the car for all day.
She brings in the car early and the service advisor tells me that the tsb does not apply to the hybrid.
My wife had it there on her hand, I had him read the document where it said all civics 06, the column about the hybrid tires... they guy wont budge. One of his mechanics even told him that they could not do it anyway as the hybrid battery was in the rear! He told me that they checked the vehicle VIN for any recalls and that there where none. I explained him that this was not by VIN, but by year and by diagnosing the issue by looking at the tires... non sense to him.
Then it ends up that they did NOT have ANY of the needed parts in stock, no door seal, no arm rest, nothing to fix the window... WHY DID THEY HAVE US BRING THE CAR IN!
I finally requested the Honda customer care number, his name and opened a case with them. I should have an answer in 24 to 48 hours.
So at this point, Keyes Honda is on the wrong side. I'll keep you guys posted on HONDA's reply.

Well you are describing a Dealer with a very bad case of BDS--
Bad Dealer Syndrome.
Greed, laziness, and stupidity...not a good combo.
Every time we spend a dollar there is an election, the dollar is our ballot.

I had my upper control arms replaced today at John Eagle Honda in Houston. I took in the TSB earlier this week, scheduled an appointment with them, dropped the car this morning, took the free loaner and got it back this afternoon with a four point alignment as well.
I had replaced two tires and the two originals still on the car didn't meet any wear criteria for replacement. I did not pursue them about the tires myself, as frankly, I was more interested in getting the correct parts on the car.
No fuss no muss. They listed it as a warranty repair and on the work document stated that the arms were worn and causative of a tire wear problem, most likely ensuring reimbursement from Honda.
I'd put them in the good dealer category as they efficiently gave me what I wanted at no cost and did it quickly with no problem.

Update:
I got a call back from Honda today. They pretty much told me that I was screwed up with the tires at 29000 miles, since they where past the milleage on the bulleting and they had no report of previous complains about the noise. I did have the previous invoice where the dealer noted that I complained about the noise and that there was tire cupping... Anyway.
They told me to take the car to a different dealership (I could have figured that on my own) and that the other dealer had not performed any diagnosis and did not want to help me. He told me that the car was still under warranty and that it will be covered by them.
My wife has made an appointment with another dealer for next week, I'll have to start all over again with them...They will follow up with me next week...
Definitively add Woodland Hills Honda to the Bad Dealer list and we'll see what happens with the next one.
