: Though realy it's counter productive to have them that sensitive. Most car alarms are set too sensitive. Mine takes a pretty good hit. I also have a dual stage sensor which means there are two levels you can set. The first gives a short beep as a warning. The second is set up less sensitve and sets off the alarm. If my alarm goes off then someone has moved my car a good bit. Or two kids decided to jump on my trunk ;(

What are shock sensors?
Are they the things that makes car alarms go off every time a muscle car or a big truck drives by or someone with a booming car stereo drives by, pissing everyone off in the neighborhood?
Absolutely! Of course, my neighborhood strongly discourages teenagers Or, maybe that's just me...

There is a "tuning" session with the installation process on sensitivity. Dunno how it is going to workout since I have yet to have the dealer do the installation though I have purchased it already.

That sounds like less than MSRP ... yes you need to take it.

My sale price was $21,400.
It came up to $23,415 out the door in California (paying for the relatively high tax rate where I live, Los Angeles County.)

So if your sale price is $21,600 and out the door is $24300, where is the extra $685 going?
Did you get extras, or is there a mistake?

I suspect he just guesstimated the $24300 and it wasn't anything the dealer told him.

Yea... I guess I just suck at guesstimation.

So anyway, one of my local dealers has 2 ASM w/o Navi's in stock and is willing to go to MSRP of $22,400 (I was originally quoted $23,400 from this dealer) That means I'll be out the door for around $24,500.

The dealer that offered it for $21,600 doesn't have any in stock, and won't have any for 30 - 45 days. Plus, it's 300 miles away and they don't offer any delivery. That means I'll be out the door for about $23,800 or so.

Is $700 worth the trouble? Plus, if I wait for up to 45 days, that would diminish my chances of getting a car pool lane sticker, am I right?

I'd love to come home this weekend with the HCH, but $700 could buy about 9 months' worth of gas...

...oh, decisions, decision!

Anyone care to comment?

I tend to have a (un)healthy suspicion of dealers giving a good deal on a car that will come in a few weeks. I "gambled" with Spreen Honda and they turned out to be ok, of course, I also had the quote in writing. However, they could just NOT notify me and as the cars come in, sell at MSRP or higher until one sat on the lot for a week or so and then go to the lower offer.

I like to think dealers aren't like that in building a "tiered" pipeline to optimize the supply/demand curve, but who knows. Usual bird in the hand vs. bush thing here...
