IMA battery warranty?

Re: IMA battery warranty?
I found this by googling for "honda 2006 hybrid warranty".
If yours is a different year, try plugging in the respective number and googling it.
http://corporate.honda.com/press/art...=2006031670437
which reads:
So if you're in CA and have a CA-emissions car (AT-PZEV), your IMA battery should be warranted for 10 years/150,000 miles, according to the Honda site.
(I think the 3-year battery warranty refers to the original 12V battery.)
If yours is a different year, try plugging in the respective number and googling it.
http://corporate.honda.com/press/art...=2006031670437
which reads:
- IMA Battery Warranty (Years/miles)= 8 /80,000,
- AT-PZEV**(CA, NY, ME, VT, MA, CT): 10/150,000
So if you're in CA and have a CA-emissions car (AT-PZEV), your IMA battery should be warranted for 10 years/150,000 miles, according to the Honda site.

Re: IMA battery warranty?
I am at less than 10,000 miles before my battery warranty expires. I bought the car in NJ, which is 80,000 miles or 8 yrs. I wanted to make sure that there would be no problems with my car under the warranty that was given, but with using the vehicle a lot, I forgot about the limit in mileage to the hybrid battery. Is it possible to extend this warranty to the 10 yrs or 150,000 miles that other states have agreed upon?

Re: IMA battery warranty?
I'm not sure if you can do it if you're up to around 70,000 miles on the car. Most of the websites I found regarding Honda extended warranty seem to say you would have had to buy the extended warranty before you hit 36,000. I might not be interpreting it right, but this is an example of what I found. I guess the best way to know would be to call Honda and ask.

Re: IMA battery warranty?
You are most likely correct. When I purchased the car I was asked about extending my warranties. I at the time was at my maximum limit in money for the car, so I did go for 5 yrs or 60,000 miles. I am now at 73,000 miles and didn't think that at the time miles would kill my warranty! I am wondering if anyone has looked into alternate extended warranty companies such as US Fidelious? Not sure if spelling is correct on the latter, but I think you may get the drift to where I am heading?

Re: IMA battery warranty?
I wouldn't do a warranty other than the Honda one. I've heard horror stories of things not covered (especially hybrid components), outrageous deductibles, etc. There is an article about these third party warranties in this month's Car and Driver that isn't very positive. I looked for it online but couldn't find it.
