Default Re: Hypermiling techniques bad for battery??

Hi 2007HCHOttawa,

I'm worried too!

I've just started playing with the coast / glide / EV assist. I'm pretty green at it, and sometimes the lure of gliding / EV makes me slow down too much, and then I am forced to accelerate back up to the speed of traffic, costing me FE. But with more practice, I can see things improving.

The question is, should I (and you) keep improving? I suppose it's a difficult trade-off study. We would need to know statistics on HCH2 battery replacements, and the driving style of their owners. Pretty hard to get. But asking in different hypermiling forums could work.

Good luck!
Kathie
