Couldn't resist, you are fine. Just file as you normally do and check the appropriate area for Hybrid tax credit.

Re: How to get the federal tax credit?
"Problem" I see at the moment is that the 2007 HCH is not on the IRS list of approved vehicles (and other 2007s are) - see http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/...157632,00.html
I assume this is not a true problem since according to that site it is updated regularly and there should be no reason it is not added ..... Am keeping my eye on it tho'.....

Re: How to get the federal tax credit?
Hi notez2id,
Thanks for the link and while it is useful in establishing that the 2007 HCH is included at $2100...the bigger question is (and if you or anyone has figured this out PLEASE answer):
- If you buy a 2007 in the 4th quarter (I guess that means Oct-Dec) do you still get the full $2100 for you 2006 return?
Very puzzling language, but this is the IRS afterall. I would love to have an answer to this one. I just bought my HCH II on 11/24 and I love IT!!!!
Thanks,
Bill

Re: How to get the federal tax credit?
Yes. This link has a bit more info (see especially the examples with buyers into 2007 although the example assumes the manufacturer reached the 60,000 mark in March 2006.)
http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/...157632,00.html
Since Honda still has sold less than 60,000 vehicles through the third quarter of 2006, the odds are good they will not reach the 60,000 mark in the 4th quarter and the full rebate will still apply. Honda's website also says they do not intend to manufacture that many vehicles in 2006.
