Default How does the elec flywheel get power if spinning?

Sorry if this is a novice question, but I am taking the hybrid class at De Anza. I can't figure out how the flywheel gets power if it's spinning.

You mean the electric AC motor? I believe its an AC induction type motor - has a fixed stator that produces a magnetic field that makes the rotor spin. So magnetism allows it to spin freely. It spins one way when it receives power from battery (to help the engine drive the transmission), and the other way when Braking (generating electricity to charge battery)
