I've been working on a cool Hybrid animation and need some information on the HCH drive train.

Given that it has no torque converter and no typical clutch,
How does the CVT disengage the engine from the wheels?

I assume that the belt and conical gears are grooved.

Thanks

I'm not sure if this is something you have or not. I had this website link in my favorites that discusses the CVT. It is a link to the Insight Central website, which has a lot of great info for the Insights and the Civic Hybrids. Hope this helps, and let us know about the animation once it's done!

Wow! This link has answered alot of questions.
Somehow I missed it over there.
I have some changes to do on my model and may be quite some time till it's done.
Thanks!
