You can get most of the benifits of AC when autostopped by turning the fan control from auto to manually on. The car will still autostop and the fan will blow mostly cool air during an average time at a stop light... and the compressor will catch up quickly after the engine starts up again..

-I agree Mark, occaisonally I get to a traffic snarl long enough to get the fan blowing warm, but most of the time switching to manual or remaining there during an autostop does the trick for me.
