Today I did the unthinkable.
I left the house so late on my commute that I had to drive 45 miles in 45 minutes.
Driving for MPG was out of the question and knew I couldn't take the FCD so I just turned it off before leaving.
I hopped onto the freeway and drove like a bat out of ___, AC blowing and averaged around 82MPH.
I passed numerous slower folks in the Left lane.

While driving this way I noticed a couple of things:
1. How well the HCH handles the road for cornering, grip etc
2. The good response of the drivetrain.
3. The unique sound and feel of the CVT drivetrain while driven hard for passing, around 4500 - 5K RPM.
4. I arrived about 35 minutes later (10 minutes to spare) and switched the FCD on.
I was pleasently suprised at 43MPG.

Can't complain too much I guess!
