I guess the only accurate test would be to inflate the LEFT side of the car to 32 PSI, and the RIGHT side to 44 PSI, and see which side wears out first.

Hal, I've started at 42/40 (front/rear) – ride comfort and mileage are excellent. And you?

44/40 will be my next move! Not too harsh? Any noticeable effect at 44? I would loose teeth fillings in my Insight I at those PSIs... therefore my phobia... but the Civic has been a pleasure at current settings.

You shouldn't notice any difference at 44 lbs., Steve.

50/50 for me, and apart from a little extra road noise, life is good on my Michelins, though the mpg isn't quite as good as it was on the OEM Bridgestones.

44/40 refers to the COLD tire pressure, correct?
Just making sure we're all measuring correctly.
