Default DIY oil change thoughts....

Sup All,

Just got done changing the oil off of my new Civic Hybrid @ 5200 miles - 50% oil life. Anyhow, just wanted to share with ya'll my experience.

Pros: Oil filter and drain plug location

Cons: Splash guard - nine holding clips (US models only)<---why only the US??

HOnda dealer recommends to change oil every 6k or when the oil service indicator is about 20%. I think 5k is the max for me since I'm use to changing oil in my other cars around 3500, and oil was just as dirty. If you want your HCHII to last long, I'd change around 50% or just about 5k...IMO.

Great car so far. Takes me back and forth to work just fine...
