just wondering if anyone knew the reason why the at-pzev HCH (what i own) only has an 11.9 gallon fuel tank, where the other have the 13.2. can the other larger tank be purchased and installed? stupid question i'm sure, but i always feel shortchanged when i have to fill up at about 500 miles when a lot of others are able to go much further per tank because they bought their cars in states other than CA.

the thought has crossed my mind that if i were to get one of the new 06 HCH's, to purchase it out of state for the greater fuel capacity if the same holds true for the new model year civics.

btw i'm getting my best tank avg ever since joining this site! display reads 52.9 right now at 300+ miles on this tank. i do a lot of freeway driving at 60-65 mph. i'm excited about getting higher each tank. the discipline required can test my patience from time to time though.

I know you might feel shortchanged but whether you have a 13 gallon tank, or a 100 gallon tank, X-miles per gallon wont change. (i do understand 2 more gallons means anothe 100+miles to drive but if your going 500 miles between fillups its not like your getting out of the car every day) just an observation.

 

You would be MUCH better off with the PZEV and the smaller tank. The PZ's tank is smaller for a good reason. The tank is lined for less polution. Check out the warranty on the PZ, it is WAY better than a regular Civic.
