Default Bye Bye Car

Ah, my Civic crowd: I'm no longer one of you. I'm in the process of moving across the country and I just didn't want to drag payments with me to California where the cost of living is so much higher and I'm looking for a big place. Today my beloved HCH bit the dust after a lustrious career of more than 50 MPG, but no worries - I got a great deal on a 2002 Insight and can't wait to start adding to the DB with it. Farewell, Exploit. Enjoy retirement.

Bit the dust = sold? or isn't running?

That Insight should get fantastic mileage. It is hard to step up in mpg from a Civic, even a Prius is just a lateral move. The Insight was really the only car that offers a meaningful improvement.

Can't wait to see the 70MPG tanks you'll be putting up soon. Welcome to California, also known as hybrid country.

Welcome to Cali where the mountains kill your MPG depending on where you move of course.

Bit the dust as in sold, glad to say. The Civic did an outstanding job and I'll definitely miss it, but geez the mileage comes so easily in the Insight, it's just raised my addiction to the game.

Eskri, you're right: CA is hybrid country! - went out there last week for my interview and was thrilled to see such a high ratio. Inspiring I say. San Francisco may take its toll with hills and bad traffic, but at least I've got a car that won't be tough squeezing into parking spaces
