I am not seeing a recall on my 2007 Civic - even on OwnerLink, but my friend who has the non-hybrid 2007 Civic just got the recall letter. Any thoughts why this would be?

Check your VINs (last six or seven digits are which number off the line it was).... if yours was built after your friend's, it's possible that the problem was detected and corrected between the two build dates.

My HCH didn't have the recall. It is a 2007 built in 2007. I think the cars built in 2006 have the problem.

If people (like Harold) are just now getting their notices, then there must be some ORDERED MAILING going on. Maybe the 2006's (like mine) got the notices first, or maybe they just now expanded the scope of the recall.
SAme . old news done a long time ago. April 2006 buy date; March 2006 build date.

Took my dealership (Immke Dublin) just about an hour, including the free car wash for having had it in for service.

Don't hold your breath on the car wash. Even if the dealer says the wash your car, they often don't.

I just found out about this recall last week when I took the spouse's '06 HCH in for its 20K maintenance work. After returning home I phoned the dealer with my '07 HCH VIN; turns out the recall applied there as well. So I had my car fixed the next morning.

I never received any mail or other notification of this recall. Normally Honda is very good about such things.
