Default Battery question

I just purchased a 2007 hybrid civic w 66,000 miles. And have a couple questions about the car. When I accelerate from a stop onto the freeway w full asst my battery power is almost fully drained by the time i get up to speed 70-75 mph. I am wondering if this is normal? Car seems to run great and. The battery charges back up during freeway driving. I am new to hybrids altogether and figured this would be the place to start asking questions. Thank u in advance for your input.

Sounds like you are accelerating too fast. Your battery should not drain that quickly, unless you are really putting your right foot into it. What kind of gas mileage are you averaging?

I have a 2003 HCH with an old worn out battery (IMA light has been on for almost a year now) and it only drains down to 2 or 3 bars when I drive in heavy stop and go traffic. My mileage has dropped from an average of 51 while the battery was good, to around 46-47 which is still acceptable given my car has 166k miles on it.

Im averaging about 34 mpg. Something isn't right. The dealer said they can't do anything until the check engine light and ima light come on

I just bought a 07 civic hybrid as well, my battery will be down when i start driving it and then after 10 or more highway miles goes all the way back up. Also i am feeling some slight bucking at 10-20mph. any light shed on these subjects is appreciated! <3
