If I can, minimum 65mph in the HOV. 80mph would be nice!

2) Ride in the HOV lane but be forced to go 67, getting 44 mpg (guesstimate).

While I'm trying for the highest MPG, using the carpool lane poses some interesting challenges.

Question for everyone who uses the HOV... what is your average HOV speed? Are you doing minimum 65 to keep the non-hybrid legal HOV users happy? Are you pressured to go faster? Do you just not care and go less than the limit? What about when you have a cheater behind you (do you slow it down because they shouldn't be there anyway!)?

sunday nights I would get in the pool lane on my way home,

but I only get in that lane when the traffic is bad.

They seem to like to go 75 + and

the yellow stickers must really **** them off

I have now settled down to 65-70 very comfortable @ 47 mpg.

Now thats better mileage than most cars out there.

But at 3.339 I might slow down a bit more.

I have a Honda GX. My car pool sticker is white instead of yellow. Does anybody know why it's white instead of yellow?

Do you think maybe the natural gas cars are special?

Maybe my HOV sticker is white because the GX is considered a "clean" car? There is no infomation about different HOV stickers on the CA DMV web site.

I drive 65-70 and do not pay attention to my rear view mirror. I've noticed most SUV drivers will ride my butt. If they get too close, I let off the accelerator and they'll usually fly over the double double yellows and go around me. Jeorks. If I'm going 70 and I'm still too slow for you, too bad.

When I first got my HCH2 and put on my stickers, the first commute day was strange. A woman in an old beat up POS (piece of s---) rode my butt in the carpool lane. She was driving by herself -- obviously in a huge hurry.

She swerved out of the carpool as soon as traffic lightened in the regular lanes and double flipped me off. The members on this site said she was probably upset that I had dealer tags and carpool stickers on a gorgeous new HCH2. Must have really upset her.

The dealer told me that the Yellow stickers HOV program end in Jan 1, 2008 but not the White stickers!

Maybe Dec 2007 I have to trade in my 06 HCH?!?

If you're getting passed on the right, speed up or move to the right...

Right. We had white stickers on our electric vehicle too. The white stickers were issued to EVs and NGVs before the hybrid law went into effect. I believe all stickers are set to expire in 2008. But chances are that the white stickers will get an extension and the yellow stickers won't.
