I personaly do not like to run my gas tank low as the gasoline cools the fuel pump , just pulled into the garage when the gas light came on..pretty good..? Been getting around 45-48mpgs on average..just thought I would see how many miles I could get . Light came on around 480 miles..

Your FE sounds pretty good to me. Not Bad for a Brand new HCH ll I think.

Say, what do you think of your New ride as far as, how quite is it inside? How about the Power of the Vehicle? Liking Merging on the Interstate System?

I believe it has been said that when the light goes on you have a little over 1 gallon left, so your not realy running on fumes at that point.

 

Terry , the ride of the car is superb , handles well..power is fine , this little 1.3 litre can handle the car just fine with a full load of people in the car..merging onto interstate areas requires revving the rpms atleast for me above 3,000rpm at times , but back again into FE mode in no time.. , as far as quietness of the ride , all I hear is tire noise..


Terry , I also only drive interstate mileage , about 95% of the time , so this car is realy good on interstate mileage I think..

 

Well, I've had my HCH2 for 3 months now. Most of the time when the fuel light has come on during my commute and I filled up it only took 10 gallons. With a 12.4 gallon tank, it looks as though it warns you 2 gallons in advance. So, you have about 100 miles before you have to worry about destroying your engine. I've even pushed the car to just 1 fuel light remaining and have only filled up to 10.5 gallons. This car warns you way in advance. That said, I'm scared to push it beyond 1 light.

 

after light went on, I drove more 70 mile and had no dash there left. Did 647 miles on the tank and I decided I wont push more... fill it up... 11.19 gallons, topping it up. first click was at 10.5 or so. 2.49 a gallon
