I'm using TaxCut, and claiming the credit there is very straightforward. The page even includes a link to the Web site that tells you what % you get based on purchase date.

While you're at it, don't forget the hefty sales tax you paid -- it's deductible (along with other sales taxes) on Schedule A.

I used FreeTaxUSA.com and it was very easy there.

I checked on Turbo Tax Online again today and they've got the right forms working now. I was able to finally get my proper credit and file my return!

So why won't the Turbo Tax Deluxe Desktop program I bought at WalMart let me file my taxes? This program is really frustrating!

The "online" version of Turbo Tax has the form ready, but the windows and mac versions won't be ready until Feb 16th.
Pretty frustrating for me also.

I wonder if I can somehow upload the date from my Desktop version to an online version, and then complete the e-file...

I just checked this morning and Turbo Tax says that the error is fixed and the updates are in, just finished efiling. If you are using online go online and finish, otherwise use the one click updates on your box version.

Pardon the ignorance, but I'm having my accountant back in Michigan do my taxes. She wasn't quite sure what I'd need to submit when we talked last. Anyone know what I'll need to send her for the tax credit on my end?

Thanks,

BP
