Default 2004 HCH sputter when turning over engine?

HELP Can't afford to get taken by a mechanic right now.

My 2004 HCH (159K miles) sputtered almost like a muffler sputter as I turned the engine over. Started fine and seemed to be running strong once started. Revved the engine, no sputters. Turned car off, started again and it sputtered exactly the same way. Scared to drive it to work. It is setting in the drive way.

I have noticed it has been sluggish lately going up hills. Also cannot run the AC or the defrost (even with the AC button "off") or the car seems to struggle and feels like it is missing.

Any ideas??

Yes - it was replaced pretty recently. Thanks though
