Re: 06 HCH Qs
I don't have it in front of me, but the owner's manual lists a number of factors that determine when the Autostop feature is available. There is something in there about fan speed setting effecting it during certain conditions, but I can't recall the specifics.

Wow.. That statement is so misleading that I honestly thought there was no way Honda would have really made such a claim, but lo and behold:
Honestly, I feel that is just downright bad business to make such a misleading claim when we all know full well it can't get moving from a stop on the IMA drive, and even once moving, member comments indicate it's extremely hard to keep it in electric mode by the time you're doing near 30mph or so if there's anything other than perfectly flat ground. The way that's written, it makes it sound like you can accellerate from zero to 35mph on electric power alone.

"For 2006, the electric motor (along with the engine) can propel the car from a stop to speeds up to 35 mph"
it could be fine.
and if you say, well the 03-05 models could do that too, well, it doesn't say "only" for 2006.
I know, it's terrible. I'd also add that accelerating with 5 bars of assist in ev-mode is painfully, painfully slow. I wish Honda designed the electric motor to be much more powerful, or at least allow the full 10 bars of assist in ev-mode instead of 5. And it's very very hard to hold 5 bars - one twitch too far and the engine comes right back on.

Re: 06 HCH Qs
06 HCH Maual on Auto Stop function states the following conditions for it to engage:
* Engine coolant nearly up to temperature
* Shift in D or N
* Not pressing Accelerator
* Must be pressing the brake
* IMA is at sufficient charge
* Fan is at lower speeds (in either Manual or Auto modes)
* Outside temperature is between 10-100 degrees F
* The front Window Defroster is Off
How low is a low fan setting? I noticed Auto Stop working at 3 bars Manual Setting.
How high is a sufficient charge? I don't know yet.
The Auto Stop is a very cool feature. I turn down the radio just to show it off to passengers.

Re: 06 HCH Qs
I tried using ev mode a lot tonight. My battery went to the mid-point rather quickly. Will try using it more in tomorrows commute. Ugg.. Can't wait for my carpool stickers to arrive.
