I just bought a 2014 Accord hybrid. I have noticed the battery for the EV has never charged to FULL. It only goes to 3/4 power. Is this normal or should I take it back to the dealer to look at it

 

I would take it back since it is under warranty.

 

batteries like these perform best in this range of charge/discharge. It is completely normal that it never fully charges, although it is possible to fully charge as i've taken mine in the mountains and did quite a bit of coasting downhill.

this is also good info for your laptops- keeping the charge around 70% will give you longer life overall out of the battery.

 

If I could get one in Canada, in red with the light interior I'd buy one in a heart beat.

But it's not to be and as I understand it U.S. dealers refuse to sell to Canadians.

 

Ordered mine a few months ago and had to wait about 3-4 weeks. Was torn between getting it in black or the obsidian blue. In the end I went with the blue and am glad I did. I've been averaging about 47 mpg sine I've had it.

 

I have had mine for three weeks. My average mileage is 56 MPG. I have seen 60 and 70 mpg. The car is well worth the wait.

 

3 year update:
I've had my HAH 2014 for 3 years and 75,000 miles. I live in Rochester, NY and average about 40 mpg in winters and 53 mpg in summers : overall about 47 mpg. In warmer weather locations I could see averaging 50+ mpg year round. Do NOT believe the magazine articles and such regarding mpg, they are used to driving sports cars and minimizing their race course times. I drive the car more conservatively, but then again that is the whole point of a hybrid. In slower towns and suburbs this car can get CRAZY good mileage (i've had 80+ mpg on some favorable trips of 10+ miles). With that said, this car can still MOVE if you take off the ECON mode and floor it. If you want this to be a sports car, and expect 50+ mpg, it's not gonna happen - go buy a Tesla. If you want the traditional Honda Accord high quality mid-sized sedan, with 45-50 mpg overall - stop shopping - this is it.
The only real drawback is the slightly smaller trunk space and no trunk pass through, but that was known when I bought the car. I'm waiting to see when the batteries begin dying and need replacement, but Honda says they should last 150K+ miles. We'll see.

 

I haven't been here in awhile - I still love my Hybrid, it's still going strong. I was going to enter my mileage (which I haven't entered since 2015) and my garage is gone. Bummer.
