Default Reducing Gas Volume

Has anyone tried running only on a 1/2 tank of gas instead of a full tank to increase mpg, less weight? I usually keep mine full and don't let it fall under 1/2, but am thinking about giving it a try.

Haha. It's been mentioned before in jest, but you actually plan to do it!?

Hi Tinkerbell:

___One of the greatest joys I have received while driving the Insight is not having to visit the gas station for well over 1,000 miles for ~ ½ the year with warmer temperatures here in and around Illinois. The slightly higher FE from not carrying around 40 - 50 #’s worth of fuel will be miniscule at best. Take the range as the gas savings from not having to drive to the gas station and back will be greater.

___Good Luck

I've never thought to try it because I'm already getting double what everyone else is getting.. That's good enough for me.
