Another question on my new 2015 accord hybrid. Manual on page 75 makes a distinction between the two indicators "EV" and "EV Mode" -but both describe the same thing. EV indicator- when the vehicle is moved by the motor.
and EV mode- which is essentially the same thing?

 

The ev indicator means the car is running on the electric motor. The ev mode indicator means that the car will run on the electric motor as long as it can, as defined by the programmed limits of battery discharge. If you pay close attention, you will notice that the battery will be allowed to discharge to 2 bars when in ev mode, and it will tolerate slightly more acceleration before starting the gas burner when in ev mode than when not in ev mode.
