Have over 50k miles on these Michelins and am in need of new. What else are there being used on the HAH besides the Michelins? Any better luck with those or not? Any bigs compared to the Michelins. The Michelins are good but expensive.

I haven't tried these yet, but am leaning towards them when I need new tires myself. I'm on my second set of OEM Michelins. I'm about halfway through their expected life. With my very short commute now, I probably won't need new tires for several years.

 

I'm not leaning towards the Michelins anymore. Called up Farm and Fleet here in town and they want more $1000 for a set! A thousand dollars for a tire that I use up in two years of driving. I'm going some other route this time. These Michelins are just too expensive and for what? Hey I get 30+mpg but am not so sure its the tires that do it. Been talking to friends and they suggest BF Goodrich but not so sure about those. Need more recommedations for this big bill......

 

I think I paid something like $625-650 installed at CostCo for the OEM Michelins. They usually carry a $70 off coupon, which I took advantage of.

 

So, just what tire do you have on your HAH? I want to know what everyone else is running on theirs. I have the OEM Michelein model on mine. But they went up in price since I bought them last. I was quoted just over $1000 for 4. Surely theres something as good or better.

 

I am a tire nut, on my third set of tires for my HAH with less than25K miles.
Michelin are the best. Check out Sams Club or Costco for their Michelin X series. It's a series only available at Discount clubs, very good.
But for cheaper, go to Tire Rack. I just got Khumo Ecssta's which are very nice and about $380 delivered to my door.

Yeah, I broke down somewhat and called a cousin who has a large tire shop and he has the Michelins. But he wants me to buy their Hydroedge tires. Guess they have a 90k warranty for $675. Not sure but he claims they have a nice ride to them. Have you heard of them. They're on the Michelin website but don't pop up when you type in the HAH. That price is much better than I could find around here. One place was asking $1000 for the tire have now.

 

I just put Michelin Primacy MXM4 on my '06 Accord 6MT. I have not put many miles on it yet. Initial impression is very good. It absorbs bumps better than OEM tires and as well as the Energy MXV4 S8 that I have on '06 HAH. Handling and grip is certainly way better than OEM Pilot HX MXM4. Since Primacy MXM4 is marked Green-X just like Energy MXV4 (which I believe means LRR), I would seriously consider those for my HAH as well when the time comes.

 

I've been seeing good reports on the Yokohama dB Super E-spec™. They are a low rolling resistance V-rated tire that are only available in sizes for hybrid cars. Tire Rack has them for $616/set and a $40 rebate.
