Re: Navi DVD ver 3.50
Yeah I'd be happy with a 2010 or 2011 if I didn't have to pay the premium price. Is there a good place to go for that?

Just keep an eye on eBay. Sometimes deals for more current discs to pop up. Also, you can try salvage yards. However, I think you'll have a very slim chance of finding a 1-3 year old disc that way.

The navi in my honda is my favorite out all the navis I've ever used. I've used Garmin, Mio, VZ Navigator, and Google Navigator, and the Honda is the consistently smoothest, most accurate and most user friendly. The larger screen is also a plus. The sound levels are very balanced. I give it a big thumbs up.

I much prefer the Garmin units. The screen resolultion is much better. Their POIs and businesses are more accurate. And, updates are by far cheaper than the Navi.
However, the Navi being installed, is very nice. It's built in to the dash, so no hardware and dangling wires. Integrated into other components of the car and just works well together.
I really like having an installed nav unit. But, what was the Navi, a $2,000 option? And then another $285 each time you update it. A Garmin with lifetime maps/traffic can be had for ~$100 and all future map updates are free!

GoogleMaps is the primary navi for my use these days. Nice to have the DVD as backup when cruising out of cell-tower range (when I've not cached googleMaps apriori). Would be nice to have video I/O from the Android to the Honda display.

If you love using apps on your smartphone, put them to work in your car. Pioneer's SPH-DA02 AppRadio smartphone receiver puts them front and center on a bright and clear 6.1" capacitive touchscreen. With your iPhone 4/4S, you won't have to fumble around with your phone while you're driving — just reach out and touch the screen. It recognizes zoom, swipe, and pinch gestures just as if you were using your smartphone.
