You need to go to dealer to see if upgrade is installed. There is no way to tell from vin number. The upgrade maybe adds 1 mile per gallon to the mpg. The upgrade changes the way the IMA operates in stop and go driving and does little at highway speeds.

Thanks for the quick response. I figured that would be the answer. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to bring a copy of the TSB to make sure the dealer knows what I'm talking about...

I have a 2007 HAH with about 2500 miles on it. We live in DFW Texas and drive about 50% on the highway. The overall mileage we have gotten on it since we have owned the car is 29.0 On our last trip to Austin we got 38.

Last posting was May 2007, nearly two years old. I've had a request to u-sticky the thread. Let me know if anyone thinks it needs to remain "sticky" by say Monday or Tuesday, March 31. Otherwise, I'll unstick it and it will soon fade into the pool.

BTW, next week is my last week as an active moderator. If you have an interest, contact Internet Brands who may be looking for moderator(s).

Cool Re: Calling any post-April 2006 owners!

Hello guys...I know I am many years too late to reply BUT I am one of the owners who have upgraded the latest firmware...and YES it does have significant improvement in fuel economy!

Before: City 9.5L/100kms and up to 8.9L/100kms

After: City 8.7L/100kms and up to 7.8L/100kms.

Mainly I felt that the charging of the Hybrid battery and the ECO mode have became more sensitive and thus engages more often.

Furthermore I also noticed that the IMA does ASSIST more and longer.

But one fault still remains...it is that the Hybrid battery capacity tends to be low and ASSIST doesn't last long at all. Wished upgrade battery is available in the future that increase the capacity...or even Lithium ion can help a lot!

It is shame that Full Hybrids like Fusion Hybrid (which I own as well) and/or Toyota Prius which can run on motor alone (which drains the battery and demands much more juice) lasts MUCH LONGER duration than a mild hybrid battery like the Accord Hybrid.

Don't really know why!
