06 Post Engine Control Update MPG
Two tanks of gas have been consumed with update installed. MPG is 28.7 compared to 30.1 prior to update. So don't expect miracles from the update. Car uses the IMA more after the update, charging and discharging the battery. More assist on slight hills and around town. The car's operation is not as smooth as the IMA cuts in and out more and more at lower speeds. As I said earlier we don't have a regular driving patern as we are retired, and here in Auburn, CA their are no flat roads. Most of our driving is on grades. We have yet to take the car on a long freeway trip, over 200 miles, to see what effect the upgrade has on milage.

Re: 06 Engine Control Update
The key is to put your car up to speed that is slightly faster than the traffic so you can have lots of time to coast. It is in the coasting part that you save lots of fuel due to fuel cut off and +/- regeneration.
Update us of your ave MPG later.
