Is a used 05 HCH Worth Having? (asks the newbie?)
Although I've driven an '04 HCH at work (and loved it), I'm considering an '05 HCH at a nearby dealer. But I have qualms. These and other forums speak of both battery and, worse, transmission issues with the model's CVT. And Consumer Report's on-line edition gives the 05 a mediocre review for transmission issues.
Other factors to consider: I live in Maine, USA, the land of rough roads - we invented potholes - and steep hills.
Given those issues, should I consider a non-hybrid Civic? Or should I take the plunge? I'd love to hear from some '05 owners. The car I'm considering has about 60,000 miles.

That's normal mileage for an '05. I'd wait for an '06 or newer, unless you get a heck of a deal on the '05. Check out the CVT carefully with that year.
