Default Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I got two questions.

How does the TPMS work?

Also my TPMS light is on, I read in the manual that it means it is malfunctioned. Is there something I can check on the car to see if something is not setup properly?

Default Re: Tire Pressure Monitoring System

There are TPMS modules in each tire, that monitor pressure. These little gizmos need to be paired to the car receiver, like a Bluetooth headset. Fancier systems actually tell you which tire is low, but ours are not that specific, so when you rotate, no need to worry about switching positions in the computer.

The day I drove my 08 home the light came on and they just had to re-pair the modules, I guess it happens in the beginning to quite a few cars, but it's an easy fix.
