Time to say goodbye
@" The only car worth owning is the one that will get you to where you are going every time you need it."
I don't really understand the "range anxiety" surrounding battery electric vehicles. No car is ever big enough to carry all your furniture, capable enough to handle the terrain you may have to go on or fast enough for pleasure but with the world as interconnected as it is now, it's easy to find the necessary alternatives the 0.1 percent of the time that you need it. I'm sure for a longer road trip, our friend here can rent a car and with the long term savings here, it'll still be a good deal.
About the sustainability of electricity use- I read that it really depends on your own electricity rates and where it comes from. Where I come from in BC canada, most of it is hydro and its dirt cheap. Unfortunately, the more we use here, the less we sell to coal dependent provinces and states. One electron is the same as another...

Hello everyone.
Here is a little update on the Electric Leaf. I've put about 1250 miles on the car, it was worked perfectly, no problems at all. The car handles well, is very very quiet, and has a very tall greenhouse. Very roomy inside.
Instead of MPG electric cars rate distance/cost by MPKh (miles per KW/hr).
My wife and I have an average of about 6 miles/KWhr. Our electricity costs .12¢ a KW/hr, so it costs .02¢ to go a mile. Now if you were to convert this MPKh to MPH and a gallon of gas costs $3.75, the car gets the equivalent to getting 187.5 MPG.
Also we have found that 90% of our trips are under 30 miles, so the Leaf has become our primary vehicle.
I highly recommend electric cars!
