Si/Civic spoiler on 2008 hybrid?

Re: Si/Civic spoiler on 2008 hybrid?
Sure.... but it can be a little costly to plug the four holes that the lip spoiler is anchored on. I know someone who ended up buying a new trunk lid to mount the wing spoiler... since it was somehow cheaper that way.
Besides, the HCH-2 lip spoiler actually helps to lower the CoD which in turn helps fuel economy.

Ummm.... I fail to believe that the pie plate wheels OR the spoiler have any real affect on CoD. It's purely an aestetic thing. The Si spoiler certainly is not intended to add more downforce to a FWD car... It's for looks.
Once you remove the OE spoiler, you could plug the holes rather cheaply with any kind of body filler or epoxy. No need to do a real clean job as the OE holes would be covered by the bigger Si Spoiler.
You will have to DRILL holes in your rear trunk to get the Si spoiler installed though.

FWIW, you can also insatll the Si front grill. It's a direct bolt on.

I'm going to relocate my Hybrid emblem to the front grill, in place of the "Si" emblem...

However, the lip spoiler along with the wheels and the under-body covers (among other minor tweaks) are responsible for knocking 0.04 to .06 points off the CoD of a regular Civic sedan. In fact, the 2008 Canadian Civic GX has the lip spoiler and wheel treatments as two of the prominent improvements needed to meet the ecoAuto program ratings.

Like I said, others have done this already and they ended up going with a brand new trunk lid.

Yep...
No way the holes for the original equipment spoiler are gonna line up with the Si Spoiler.
Another option is the Canadian GX Spoiler... I just hit Kel up at collegehillshonda to see what one would cost.
Santos,
What did Honda do to the GX underbody to improve the CoD...? I can't find any data on that topic.

Chris, as far as I can see from the first production batches, there's no significant under body treatment on the GX than matches what we have on the HCH.
The main aerodynamic gains on the GX were derived mostly from the wheels and the lip spoiler.
Both are the same as what we have on the HCH.
