Default Rear video camera integration with factory nav?

Is there a way to make a rear video camera integrate with the factory navigation system? Or do I need to buy an OEM unit to make this work? Thanks!

One or two people at 8thcivic.com have used that site. I'll try to find the thread. I want to do this too, but the expense!

Actually, the Navigational unit that comes with the Civic is the same one that is used on the CR-V. The CR-V does come with a backup camera installed. I have been thinking about the wiring issue for this. I want to use the Honda OEM part without using an outside vendor part.

I think the site is Majestic Honda on the web and they show you the required parts for the installation minus the harness connecting the camera to the back of the Navi.

I am also thinking about ordering the parking sensors from Honda for the CR-V to retrofit on my Civic. This looks easier to install than the backup camera at this point since it is all confined to the trunk area and routing the buzzer to the upper rear deck.

Another suggestion is this kit I found on the web also:
http://www.tellphone.com/index.php?o...=57&Itemid=222

It will allow complete BT phone integration into your factory Navigation unit and has an extra port for video input (DVD or Backup Camera)

Yes, that is correct, there is not the traditional RCA-in composite video jack. The video-in connections are through one of the 2 connectors in the back of the Navi headunit, There is also a reverse signal input that is used to enable the camera.

Do you know which connector on the back of the Navi is used for the Backup Camera? I got a quote for the camera (wholesale price) $461.00 (retail $639.99)
