Question about maximum time for grid charging.
Thanks to the generous help from S. Keith I have successfully grid charged my 2006 Civic hybrid with good results.
I have a question about the total amount of time to grid charge the battery. From what I remember, the recommendation for the maximum amount of time to grid charge the battery was about 25 hours. I'm just curious about the reason for the limit. When grid charging my G1 Insight I would typically grid charge for about another 3 - 5 hours once the voltage stopped increasing.
Thanks for reading my post.

At 0.1C or lower charge, you want to charge to 1.6X battery capacity to ensure all cells are at true 100%.
1.6 * 5500mAh / 350mA = 25 hours.
For insight:
1.6 * 6500mAh / 350mA = 30 hours.
A little extra isn't going to help or harm. If the calculated time fails to charge any cells to 100%, those cells are in the process of failing.

C = Charge or Discharge rate.
1C = X Ah / h = X Amps, i.e., 1C for a 5.5Ah battery is 5.5A.
