Harold - are you sure? I don't think there have been 80,000 Hybrids built/sold yet so check that number again. Yours should potentially be a lower number than mine or at least one much closer. Then again, maybe the Canadian cars have a different sticker or come direct from Japan instead of to San Diego then Chicago then to you (I think that is the route mine took).
As you can see from a US perspective all looks normal until you hit the plant marker character... then the sequence is only meaningfull to the Canadian market.
However, it is evident that my car is older than Harold's. After waiting for it for several weeks, I picked mine up towards the end of June not more than 2 weeks after its manufacture.
Cars for the canadian market are typically shipped directly from Japan to Vancouver BC in Canada.
Cheers;
MSantos

Yeah, wonder if it is what msantos said...
Mine was built in Oct. '06. No problems what-so-ever, yet. *fingers crossed*

Lucky s.o.b. - to have cars direct from Japan. No fair. Well I don't have much experience with the CAN cars so apparently yours has an extra digit in there or a separate S/N or they reserve a few thousand just for your country. Maybe someone in Mexico or Europe or other countries can include their S/N. Neat. Thanks guys. I think Victoria, B.C. is where my favorite TV show was filmed at times (MacGyver). Small world.

My HCHII is an 07 and is S/N 3444. which was built in October 2006. It is interesting that we took delivery of it the first week of November 06. It must have not stuck around long in Japan.
